French construction document visa: definition and tracking

The French visa of execution documents is the design team’s review of whether contractor-produced studies follow the project design. The visa does not replace the contractor’s responsibility for its studies and construction methods.

The visa workflow in practice

The contractor submits a drawing, calculation, or technical sheet with an identifiable revision. The design team reviews it, adds comments, and assigns a status under the agreed contractual process.

A correction request should produce a new revision without deleting the prior submission. History connects the date, author, comments, and decision to each edition.

Statuses must be understood by all participants. They distinguish a received document, one under review, one accepted within the applicable process, and one requiring revision.

Approval tracking in Builddar

Builddar document management retains revisions and document approval stages. Drawings and records remain organized by project and zone.

Document comments can be recovered alongside the field context, observations, and deliverables that refer to the same works.

Construction document visa questions

The design team performs the visa when that duty belongs to its appointment. The exact scope and applicable statuses depend on the works contract.
Yes. The new edition receives a new revision and follows the agreed workflow. The former edition should remain archived with its decision.
No. The visa reviews consistency with the design within the appointment’s scope. The contractor remains responsible for its studies and work.
